This deeply historic raw material carries the well regarded reputation it deserves not only due to its seductive aroma but all of its inherent benefits. The resin of the trunk of the Commiphora Myrrha tree (in Somalia) is harvested by the trunks being pierced & cut to allow the resin/sap seep out of the trunk. The resin is then taken for steam distillation. The final product is a yellow-orange smoky/sweet & bitter aroma, in fact the Arabic translation for "bitter" is "murr". The oil is not only used for its fragrance ability but also its antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties.
